The Oculus Animi Tarot Deck

Latin for the soul’s eye—is a 100-card tarot and oracle system born from a fusion of ancient symbolism, personal intuition, and artistic storytelling. Inspired by the classic Rider–Waite structure and enriched with imagery drawn from my lifelong fascination with Ancient Rome, each card becomes a miniature world of archetypes, signs, and subtle visual cues.

About Me

My community on YouTube know me as Jam, or better still Jammy.

I’ve always lived at the intersection of creativity, symbolism, and storytelling. I’m a lifelong artist of sorts who loves to draw, paint, and communicate through images rather than words.

For years I worked as a clothing designer / illustrator, shaping garments, prints, and visual ideas for Australian brands. Along the way, I developed a deep fascination with logos, symbols, and all forms of nonverbal communication. Art history was my first doorway, and the ancient world captured my imagination long before adulthood ever had the chance.

Tarot has always been part of that story.

As a child, I was mesmerised by the classic tarot imagery—little windows into myth, archetype, and intuition. I read casually for many years, always drawn to the quiet dialogue between images and insight.

In 2024, I launched a YouTube channel called The Jam Scam, where I explored symbolic messaging hidden in photographs. It unexpectedly became its own community, and that’s where the name Jam truly stuck. While creating video content, I found myself reconnecting with my tarot cards in a deeper way.

Then 2025 arrived with a monumental shift. I left my job and career in Melbourne, packed up my home, sold nearly everything, and moved back to the west coast for a complete reset. Around Easter of that year, I sat down to design  the Oculus Animi Tarot Deck—Latin for the soul’s eye.
This 100-card system blends the structure of the classic Rider–Waite tarot with my childhood fascination for Ancient Rome, along with original oracle cards inspired by themes explored in The Jam Scam videos.
